Higher tier tests

The implementation of higher-tier studies in ecological risk assessment of plant protection products is a key area of gaiac. We offer a wide range of higher-tier approaches to refine the risk assessment for aquatic and terrestrial compartments:

  • Tests with non-standard test organisms for species-sensitivity distributions (SSD)
  • Population studies unter realistic exposure conditions
  • Tests with complex aquatic communities under laboratory conditions (microcosms)
  • Tests with complex aquatic outdoor communities (mesocosms)
  • Tests with complex terrestrial communities in model ecosystems (TME) under outdoor conditions
  • Ecological modelling of populations and communities

All higher-tier studies are conducted according to international guidelines or recommendations and, on request under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
